Mezhdunarodnaya Kniga

ОАО Международная Книга / Mezhdunarodnaya Kniga (in English: International Book Company) was founded in 1923 and is the oldest Russian foreign trade organization. The company provides services related to the export and import of books, periodicals, audio and video recordings and other goods for cultural purposes. Logo may appear as "MK", and different MK lettered logos were used for UK or Italian issues. UK Importers and Distributors included Farringdon Records and Transatlantic Records Ltd.. On July 25th 1952, an agreement was reached with Leeds Music Corp. to act as the exclusive licensing agent in the USA and Canada for Soviet recordings (in an attempt to stop unauthorized releases). A number of US labels would go on to license tapes from Leeds in the following years, such as Vanguard, Westminster, and Monitor Records (2). For artist credits, please use Международная Книга.
